Caravan Salon 2013: Mobile living comfort in the kitchen

Stockdorf/Munich – August 1, 2013. At the Caravan Salon 2013, Webasto is presenting a broad product portfolio in Hall 13, Booth A70. On the neighboring outdoor area, visitors can view the products fitted to a vehicle. As show highlights, Webasto is exhibiting its air heaters with much lower noise levels, a new refrigerator, and two coolers. Included in the line-up are the hybrid solution consisting of a Webasto air heater and a Whale gas boiler, the Dual Top Evo diesel heater, and the diesel cooker. The Caravan Salon takes place in Düsseldorf from August 31 through September 8, 2013.

Simple retrofitting: Optimized Air Top Evo air heaters
Webasto has optimized its air heaters, which are designed as retrofits or as original equipment. Denis Merle, Director of the Marine and Recreational Vehicles market segments of Webasto Thermo & Comfort, says, "Mobile living comfort is playing an ever greater role on the camping market. Our optimized air heaters feature much reduced noise levels. Now the heating systems are fitted with more efficient combustion air intake silencers and we have a new solution to reduce noise of the dosing pump. Combustion air intake noise is reduced by up to 6 dB and dosing pump noise by up to 10 dB.“

Depending on demand, customers can choose between the Air Top 2000 ST, which offers a maximum heat output of 2.0 KW, and the Air Top Evo air heaters, which generate maximum heat outputs of 3.9 KW or 5.5 KW. The major benefit for those who want to spend their vacation in the mountains is the altitude mode. It optimizes the combustion mixture depending on the oxygen content in the ambient air. This guarantees that the air heaters operate with maximum efficiency at altitudes of up to 2.200 m above sea level.

Customized Isotherm XL-size compressor refrigerator
Webasto is expanding its compressor refrigerator portfolio with the new Isotherm XL Freeze for OE installation. It sports a capacity of 150 liters and includes a freezer compartment of 19 liters to provide plenty of room for food and drinks. The ergonomic design of the drawer mechanism helps to make working in the dinette more practical. A special soft-closing system is integrated for the first time in an Isotherm refrigerator. The refrigerator closes gently and quietly, independent of drawer momentum or weight. A shelf made of safety glass in the new XL Freeze refrigerator acts as a design element and provides stability at the same time. The integrated LED light strip provides excellent interior lighting. The design of the front panel and the interior design of the refrigerator are adaptable to customer needs.

Efficient and mobile: Isotherm compressor coolers
The Isotherm compressor cooler portfolio is now expanded by two new coolers. The capacities of the Isotherm TB15 and TB18 are 15 and 18 liters. Weighing under 9 kg, the robust coolers are easy to carry anywhere. The two models have practical shoulder straps for easy transportation.

The coolers run at operating temperatures of -18 °C to +10 °C. Despite their higher cooling capacity, they consume very little power and are therefore assigned to A+++ energy efficiency class (measured at +5 °C inside of the cooler and at +25 °C ambient temperature according to legal stipulations). The reason: The compressor speed adapts automatically to actual cooling requirements. "When we designed our cooling solutions, we consciously chose the compressor technology. Its decisive benefit is a high cooling capacity even shortly after switch-on,” says Merle.
