New Refrigerators from Webasto for Special Space Requirements

Stockdorf/Munich – December 15, 2020 – Webasto has launched two new refrigerators that are particularly suited for camper vans as well as motorhomes and caravans with narrow kitchen units.

The Freeline Slim 140 optimally utilizes valuable space in smaller vehicles as it offers a capacity of 140 liters, despite its width of just 41.8 centimeters. Although it has an integrated two-star freezer compartment with a capacity of 17 liters, this refrigerator consumes only 450 Wh/24h, making it extremely efficient in terms of power consumption. Its efficiency is facilitated on the one hand by using the R290 refrigerant, which is not only highly energy-efficient, but also environmentally friendly with its low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3. On the other hand, its well thought-out insulation concept also makes a contribution.

The new “Silent Night” function is very user friendly. At the press of a button this mode can be selected for a maximum of ten hours. This reduces the compressor speed making the refrigerator quieter.

The “SMART” function is equally clever: During periods when the refrigerator is powered via a 230V connection, it cools its contents to a lower temperature than required. When the refrigerator subsequently draws its power from the vehicle’s battery, for instance during journeys, it consumes less electricity, because it can now utilize the cold that had been previously stored in the foodstuffs. The Silent Night and SMART functions can also be activated simultaneously.

The Freeline Slim 140 is also fitted with a “smart tray”, which is located between the freezer and the cooler compartment. The tray has two slots which can be opened and closed flexibly to individually optimize the cold air distribution.

It is moreover possible to integrate the refrigerator controller into the vehicle’s central control system via a CI bus interface.

The BI 30 is a small, but still powerful refrigerator which is fitted with a new micro-compressor. It offers convenient top access and has a very low energy consumption. Its 30-liter capacity can be flexibly and optimally utilized thanks to an optional internal basket. BI 30 is fitted with a digital thermostat with temperature display. This refrigerator, with its extremely small construction volume, is particularly recommended for very compact vehicles whose users nevertheless don’t wish to forego the benefits of a powerful, integrated compressor refrigerator.

The exceptionally space-saving refrigerator is fitted as standard, for instance, to the new VanTourer Urban from Eurocaravaning, which is based on the Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
