Webasto Social Media Netiquette

We appreciate your comments, messages, interactions, and feedback on our social media channels. To ensure that every visitor feels comfortable on our channels, we apply the discussion rules below. In order to be able to maintain an open exchange, we ask you – as in a personal discussion – to consider the following rules and instructions (netiquette).

Commenting rules:

  • Keep it short. The longer your comment, the less likely others will read it.

  • Stick to the topic of the post to comment on.

  • Comment factually, without personal or even insulting, reputation- or business-damaging attacks. Left-wing and right-wing extremist as well as racist and sexist statements have no place on our social media channels and will not be tolerated.

  • A comment is an expression of opinion. Unsubstantiated claims that we cannot verify in the short time available will be deleted.

  • Any form of discrimination or defamation of people or groups based on their origin, religious affiliation, nationality, physical condition, sexual identity, income, or age is not accepted.

  • Provocation as well as comments with vulgar, violence glorifying, and hateful content will not be tolerated.

  • Do not put advertisements or irrelevant links in your comment text.

  • Do not violate personal rights in your comments. The disclosure of information about individuals such as e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, or addresses is not allowed on our channels.

  • Do not copy texts from outside sources into your comment.

  • Comments that are automatic/machine-generated (esp. bots) are obviously part of a campaign (shitstorms) and will be removed and/or their senders blocked.

  • The Webasto social media team reserves the right to delete or hide comments that violate our commenting rules or are not conducive to an objective discussion. There is no right to justification for deletion.

  • Anyone who repeatedly or seriously violates our rules or is obviously not interested in a constructive discussion can be temporarily or permanently excluded from our platforms by the Webasto social media team without warning.

  • Anyone who violates applicable laws is not welcome on our channels. We reserve the right to forward statements that may be criminally relevant to law enforcement.

  • Make sure that you own the rights to use your posted texts, images, and videos because copyright infringements can quickly lead to legal consequences.
